SAMPEDRO LONGAS

En mi obra, lo reconocible siempre está en tensión con lo innombrable, lo caótico, lo corroído. La superficie que se erosiona testimonia una memoria; la rasgadura, un trozo de pintura, papel, óxido u hongo es la huella de lo que como humanos no controlamos: El paso del tiempo. 

Mi propuesta quiere dar fe del tiempo como algo más allá de lo que los humanos podamos entender o controlar.

 

In my work, the recognizable is always in tension with the unnamable, the chaotic, the corroded. The eroding surface bears witness to a memory; the tear, a piece of paint, paper, rust or fungus is the imprint of what we as humans do not control: the passage of time.

My proposal is to attest to time as something beyond what humans can understand or control.
