El Retrato

El retrato para mí es una emanación, algo que se me propone para ser intervenido desde signos y metáforas para producir un estado espiritual, una emoción. Es el resultado de una conversación perceptiva que trasciende los sujetos del retrato y el artista, los elimina como sujetos independientes. El resultado es una imagen que se ubica entre los dos, en medio de él o ella y yo. No es su imagen en mi, tampoco es él.

The portrait for me is an emanation, something that is proposed to me to be intervened from signs and metaphors to produce a spiritual state, an emotion. It is the result of a perceptive conversation that transcends the subjects of the portrait and the artist, eliminating them as independent subjects. The result is an image that sits between the two, in the middle of him or her and me. It's not his image in me, it's not him either.
